Improved AS21 Dashboard Charts Allow Faster Data Analysis

TransACt's AfterSchool21 (AS21) software supports after-school programs at the state and local levels in submitting compliant data for their annual performance report, 21APR.

Improved dashboard charts related to the Annual Performance Review (APR) for out-of-school-time (OST) programs give AS21 administrative users the ability to analyze missing outcome data faster and more efficiently.

AS21 supports programs funded by 21st Century Community Learning Center (21CCLC) grants with 21APR data collection. The updated dashboard charts and other improvements, available as part of our December 2022 software development release, help programs meet federal reporting requirements.

AS21 Dashboarding Helps Programs Get Reporting Right

Under Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) requirements, 21CCLC programs have a variety of data points to report on when submitting their APR report. AS21 subscribers can compile the outcomes and view results at any time using their dashboard:

  • Day school attendance rates (grades 1-12)
  • In-School Suspension counts (grades 1-12)
  • State assessments for math and reading (grades 4-8)
  • Student engagement in learning (grades 1-5)
Users can view information for all reporting periods or specific ones, such as summer or the school year. Within each outcome area, administrative users can compare prior year values to the current year to better understand trends, which is necessary under the GPRA. By having outcome data more readily available, AS21 subscribers can identify and correct issues with missing student outcome data before submitting their APR.

Attendance Hours Distribution – New Chart

With GPRA in effect, 21CCLC programs must now count the number of hours during which they provide enrichment. Improvements in AS21 help programs track hours instead of days as required:

  • Less than 15 hours of participation
  • 15 to 44 hours
  • 45-89 hours
  • 90-179 hours
  • 180-269 hours
  • 270+ hours

Staffing Information – Hire and Termination Dates

Administrators can now access information about an employee’s hire and termination dates from the main staff information screen rather than the site hire information screen. When adding a new staff member, the admin user can enter the hire date without clicking multiple tabs.

Family Engagement and Education Activity Reports

Administrators can configure settings to enable the open enrollment list in the Parent Portal setup, making it easier for parents to see which sites are open for enrollment.

To view the list of open enrollment sites or to flag a site so it appears on the list, AS21 subscribers must first log in.

  • Go into the Parent Portal Setup
  • In the Enrollment Options section, choose “Yes” from the drop-down menu next to Enable Open Enrollment Site List
  • View the list of sites along with their address
